... Stage designer Christoph Weyers created four groups of four high columns for the stage, which are distantly reminiscent of the architecture of the two sites. When changing sites, each of the groups of four columns changes its position, which provides a variety of surprising scenery. The lighting, which is very effectively dimmed inside each column, provides for enlivening expressiveness. The stage design harmonises excellently with the text and content of the performance.

... The entire atmosphere of the ancient tragedy is captured again on the stage designed by Christoph Weyers. The blue illuminated columns – a slight compromise between the heavy Egyptian architecture and the lighter architecture of Rome – move in the semi-darkness and, thanks to the projections on the horizon, effectively shape the individual images.
