“With his stage design, which is pompous for a small municipal theatre, and the sweeping costumes, designer Christoph Weyers also offers a lot for the eye. The centre of the action is an ocean liner that extends over three levels and fills the entire stage portal. Thanks to the revolving stage, the steamship set can be played from all four sides and offers numerous settings such as the ship’s deck, three cabins, a ship’s prison and a ballroom with illuminated show stairs.”
