“What is also beguiling is the stage design by Christoph Weyers. He manages to bring the lake stage, the scenery and nature into natural balance, giving the whole a special form. Various cylindrical curves open one above the other like oysters in which small pearls appear, with - as a church on top - a smoking chimney. Rotating, a church decorated down to the last detail and a simple little bedroom for the sick Angeletta, painted as if by the hand of Van Gogh, appear. The props are amazingly well designed, set, and built.”
