Pretty Woman In Brno
The scenes followed the edit of the film and were cleverly designed, varied and changed quick as a flash from one location to the next. Responsible for this was set designer Christoph Weyers, already known for his long-standing collaboration with the director Stanislav Mosa.

A Year On, Pretty Woman Shines In Brno
‘Welcome to Hollywood!’ is the call at the beginning and at the end of this piece, just so the audience is aware that in this dream factory, anything really is possible. And this is precisely where the action takes the audience. Production designer Christoph Weyers has to ensure that the demands of frequent quick scene changes are met, and therefore the foyer of the Beverly Wilshire Hotel as well as its penthouse apartments are often only suggested by fragments of set that emerge from the wings or the scenery. However, this approach to the staging fulfills its function perfectly. The audience also appreciates the little ‘in-jokes’, such as in the opening Hollywood street scene, where a poster for the movie ‘Miles From Home’, resplendently trumpets the name of its leading man, Richard Gere.
