 ...This musical in Brno has some definite strengths and clear messages. This especially includes the successful stage by Christoph Weyers, who framed the scenery with a huge construction of the bridge connecting Brooklyn and Manhattan. It is a junction of two worlds, a transition that symbolises the protagonist’s path to adulthood and at the same time provides a tragic backdrop for his friend’s suicide...

...Christoph Weyers’ stage offers an industrial urban exterior and shows once again how well he knows how to use the staging options at the Brno City Theatre, whether it is the projection of the river reflection with waves, or the symbolism of the bridge piers, which represent a place of safety and fate in the lives of the young people. The flashing disco floor not only entices people to dance, but also represents a chessboard where the young people are challenged to play the tricky game of relationships. Not everyone will win...
